President's Message

February 7, 2011

My Fellow Officials and Potential Officials:

As we start 2011, many changes have taken place over the past few years.  Loudoun County continues to grow and change, we have tried to adapt to the changes. Our membership continues to grow, but we are still looking for a few good people to join our Association.  If you feel up to the challenge, please contact one of the Board members or click on Join PVOA and fill out the form.

Our officials in Basketball continue to improve and cover all games with a professionalism that is expected from our officials.  We are rapidly winding down the season and preparing for the playoffs.  There may have been a few bumps in the road, but the leagues are happy with PVOA and what we are doing and have accomplished.  Many thanks to Jim Gammie with all the hard effort he has put in to make this another successful season.

As we kick off the softball season, our officials are preparing both physically and mentally to meet the challenges.  Loudoun County added two more High Schools this year that we will be officiating.  Also, Loudoun County will also be opening a new complex of fields that we will be covering for both slow and fast pitch.  I guess success breeds success and more opportunities.

On the third Sunday of each month, we are holding a General Membership meeting and then may go into an executive session if needed.  All members are welcome to attend and feel free to contact any Board member to find the location of our meeting.  If you can’t make the meeting and feel you need to have your voice heard, please do not hesitate to contact any Member-At-Large or any other Board Member.  You are the reason why we are such a great association and your voice will be heard.

President
